I bought the ST200 For a VTX 1800 with Cobra pipes(loud). I can hear my music crystal clear at expressway speeds, at highway speeds of 60 to 65 miles an hour I can actually drown my pipe's out with the music. They're not going to have major low end because they are handlebar speakers, but if you EQ them right you can get some lows in them without distorting the speakers.
Powerful amp makes volume, no problem. Top of line brackets are heavy duty and easy to install.Bluetooth control easy to use.You can listen at speeds over 70 mph with ease. Great service. Always replies to any questions by the next day. Better than most speakers at twice the price!
First of all the customer service at Steel Horse is wonderful. I emailed some questions when ordering and got response very quickly. I connected my system to an XM motorcycle kit. Speaker system was easy too install and sounds good even at 70 mph on my Honda VTX. However I purchased a different volume control than they sell as it was too difficult to adjust volume with the small one they sell. I was very happy with the system, but I got a chance to trade cycles so I won't be able too give a review on how it holds up.
I am extremely satisfied with the speaker system. Seemed like riding season took forever to get here, but now that I am out riding and listening to my tunes on this incredible sound system, it has been worth the wait. Thank you Steel Horse. Great product, Awesome service. Amazing staff.
My wife purchased the ST200 and it is perfect for some one On a budget. The sound, the look and the quality is second to none. We had one blown speaker shorty after I installed the system and I had a new one a week later, no hassles. I highly recommend and of the steal horse systems
Relatively easy install except had to run additional wire to go from battery to fork bag. The sound is good quality and loud enough on medium volume to hear well at 65 mph. Highly recommend this over other more expensive options. Speakers are well made.
Ok - These speakers were easy to install. I have a loud bike and these speakers are loud enough to hear at high speeds and sound great. I have one issue with them that kept me from giving them 5 stars. I wish there was a knob on the speaker to control the volume. I have to turn my cell phone up on high so i can hear them when i ride, but when at a light or stopped...they are very loud. I cant turn them down as my cell phone is tucked in a pouch behind the speakers and against the windshield. I'm afraid to put a suction cup cell phone holder on my windshield as it may fall when riding. Searching for a answer on what to use so i can access my phone while riding where it wont fall.
Can I hook up my Bluetooth to this system instead of using phone jack to listen to music?
The ST200 system is not Bluetooth out of the box. However, you can add on one of our Bluetooth handlebar controller options and skip using a cord.
Is this particular system bluetooth?
The ST200 motorcycle speaker system is not Bluetooth out of the box. However, you can add on one of our Bluetooth handlebar controller options and make it Bluetooth capable.
I’m curious how the volume is controlled on the ST200? I can stream off my iPhone but can’t pull it out every time I want to change tracks, volume etc. I would really like an honest comparison between st200 and the st400 ???
The default volume control on the ST200 is to use your audio device directly. A lot of folks will use a handlebar mount to access it easier, however, we recommend one of our Bluetooth controllers. With either of these, you can control the phone without having to pull it out. Everything is conveniently controlled on the handlebars with the controller... As far as an ST200 to ST400 comparison, the ST400 is a significant jump up from the ST200. It will give you about 3x the output plus has some added features. The ST400 to ST600 is not as much of a jump. The ST200, however, is great for custom choppers and bikes with extremely limited space, as the amp is not much larger than a deck of cards.
Will the ST200 or ST400 models fit a 2005 triumph rocket III?
The ST200, ST400 or ST600 will fit nicely on the handlebars of your Triumph Rocket III. We've done a few installs on them and they look and sound great!
What speed volume control app do you guys use , I have an I phone
We recommend the basic and simple iOS app called "Volume by Velocity".
I HAVE AN ADAPTER THAT PLUGS INTO MY TRICKLE CHARGER PLUG ON MY BIKE ... IS THAT AN OK SOURCE FOR POWER?
Yes, that would work just fine for the positive connection (+), as it is still a direct connection to the battery.
I have a 2018 Harley Fatboy; is there a way to plug these into a power source other than a direct connection to the battery ? Also will they fit my handle bars ?
These motorcycle speaker systems are designed to connect directly to battery for the positive connection (12V+).  However, you could tap in to a power line elsewhere on the bike as long as it provides the same amount of power.  The ground can connect directly to the frame and does not need to connect directly to battery.  The systems will include mounting hardware for 1" and 1-1/4" bars.  We have 7/8", 1-1/8" and 1-1/2" available (free upon request).
What kind of radio can I use?
You can use any radio or audio device with a standard headphone jack or Bluetooth.
Can I hook this amp to my accessory connector on my '14 Road King?
Yes, this is a popular option... The connection plug is under the seat in front of the battery, it's capped. It is only hot when the ignition is on as well as the accessory switch. There is another under there that is always hot but it doesn't have a switch. H-D® can sell you the correct plug end to plug into either of them.
Where does the amp mount?
The amplifier on the ST200 system is small, measuring only 1.5" x 2.5" x 4". It can typically be installed under the seat or a side tool compartment. A small bag is also an option (Fork bag, windshield bag, front down tube bag, swing arm bag, etc)
